The Peugeot Instinct Concept car integrated with Samsung ARTIK Cloud made a splash when it debuted recently at Mobile World Congress 2017. For those who weren’t able to see it in person at Barcelona, we gave you a tantalizing glimpse of the design and its possibilities in this blog post. Engadget even dedicated a video to the car in this story about the event.
The Peugeot Instinct Concept is a proof of concept intended to demonstrate the potential of adding an autonomous car to the smart home. Integration between a smart car and a smart home through your personal data brings a new level to the connection between your house and the car you park in the garage. To draw out this point, Peugeot even built the car out of materials like concrete and canvas!
The video points out that personalization in the Peugeot Instinct Concept goes both ways. Powered with ARTIK Cloud, the car can pull data from your wearables, thermostat, speakers, smart locks, and other devices in order to manage your car preferences. You can likewise manage your devices right from the vehicle’s dashboard.
The car itself has four driving modes that enable you to ride exactly how you want, depending on how you feel. Two are automated driving modes: one calculates the most efficient route to your destination, and the other is programmed to give you a relaxing ride, with the wheel and seats shifting to give you extra space. You could even take a moment to check on your home through the connected devices you have installed there.
