Another step closer to connected buildings with Legrand ELIOT

Last April we announced our partnership with Legrand as we delivered the world’s first thread-enabled IoT light switch. And now we’re excited to bring you an update on the great work that has been going on since then.

A few week ago, Samsung ARTIK was invited to be a part of the North American launch of Legrand’s ELIOT, a program designed to speed up the deployment of its connected devices offering. At the event it was announced that Legrand’s wide variety of RF lighting devices including the LC7001 whole house lighting controller, Tru-Universal dimmers, switches, scene controllers and plug-in devices will now communicate with the ARTIK Cloud ecosystem.

By connecting to ARTIK Cloud, these products will be able to communicate with devices they were never really meant to. It also opens up new functionality including remote connectivity, voice control with Amazon Alexa, integration to third-party cloud services such as IFTTT, and compatibility with iOS and Android phones, tablets, and wearables such as Samsung Gear and the Apple Watch.

Here is what John Selldorff, CEO of Legrand North and Central America had to say:

“Partnership and interoperability are central tenets of Legrand’s ELIOT program to advance IoT in the built environment. We are very pleased that Samsung is participating in the launch of ELIOT and believe the coupling of Legrand RF Lighting Control with Samsung ARTIK Cloud provides excellent functionality and strong value to the professional communities we work with to end-users in homes and businesses.”
