Hello! As you may have noticed, the SAMI blog has been a bit quiet lately. That is because the team is hard at work preparing for Samsung Developer Conference 2016, which spotlights all things IoT, as well as many new SAMI developments we’re very eager to share with you.
This year, SDC 2016 will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Members of the SAMI team will be present at the Samsung IoT booth, where we’ll be holding live demos and looking to meet developers face-to-face!
For a general look at what SDC 2016 has to offer, read this feature from VP of Ecosystems Curtis Sasaki. As he puts it:
We’re confident that after the two days at SDC — or three if you attend Day Zero — you will walk away from the conference with a better understanding of the market opportunities in IoT. Specifically, you can talk to some of the key partners who are working with us to help grow the IoT ecosystem and learn about the way IoT devices store data. Typically, data is stored in product-specific silos — we’re confident we have a better way of doing it, but I won’t spoil the surprise.
In addition, keep an eye out for our technical session Enabling Device Interoperability and Data-Driven IoT Apps and Services. In this session, we’ll cover use cases for building data-driven apps, and address the challenges of developing IoT apps and services: Collecting data from a diverse set of devices speaking a variety of protocols, ensuring interoperability across device silos, working with heterogeneous data, reducing latency, protecting data privacy, accessing data from disparate devices and clouds, and much more.
This session is currently scheduled for 1 p.m. on Day 1, but as the time is subject to change, be sure to check the calendar of sessions to keep up-to-date.
And that’s not all. Our partner SmartThings will also be present in full force, demonstrating basic and advanced development on its extensive IoT platform. This is the biggest and most extensive lineup of sessions we’ve ever had covering the potential of the SAMI ecosystem in IoT—join us and see what we have in store for you.
We’ve come a long way together, and still have a lot of ground yet to cover! We’d love to meet you and talk about the future of data, so register now for SDC 2016 and get ready for an inspiring event!
